Education
Summary

Dr. Ataul Aziz graduated from Middle East Technical University Ankara in 1997. He worked as an Electrical Engineer for more than a year and went on to pursue further studies. He completed his MS in Electrical Engineering from City College of University of New York, with focus in Optical Communications. He then started working on optimization of a template for optical communication devices, and completed his PhD in the area of semiconductor nanomaterials in 2007. His research work got a grant for technology transfer, and he worked as a Research Associate for Phoebus Optoelectronics, a spinoff of graduate research. His PhD work was also granted a patent in 2009. He joined academia as Assistant Professor at COMSATS, and has since then worked at Federal Urdu University, Iqra University and at FAST National University of Computer & Emerging Sciences, where he is currently working as a Professor. He has supervised PhD students in the area of Bioinformatics and Mobile Ad Hoc Networks. He has completed HEC National Research Program for Universities NRPU funded projects in the area of Cloud Computing, and more recently Technology Transfer Fund for development of a dimmer circuit in collaboration of local fan industry.

  1. Research Project: HEC Technology Development Fund, Durable/cost effective dimmer switch with no humming sound/effect of UPS ($20,000 for 12 months Ongoing)
  2. Research Project: HEC National Research Program for Universities Implementation of a multi-device multi technology cloud, performance evaluation and customization for commercial applications ($31,000 fund for 18 months project Completed)
  3. Research & Development Project: Design & Development for a mobile device testing platform for handheld devices
