Instructions for Presenters

If an invitation letter is required, send email at craft.isb@nu.edu.pk with details of of presenting authors (name, affiliation, email, phone)

  1. Authors have to bring the presentation file.
  2. The official language of the presentation is English.
  3. The presentation PPT file should be sent to us by email (craft.submission@nu.edu.pk) till 30 April, 2022 (for conference record keeping.)
  4. Contributed oral presentations are 20 minutes long, including 5 minutes for questions and discussion. You should plan to speak for 15 minutes and leave 5 minutes for questions.
  5. There is NO EXCUSE for using more than your allotted time. Rehearse your presentation several times; projecting slides and doing anything else you would other expect to do at the meeting. It is a discourtesy to your audience, the Session Chair and other speakers to exceed your allotted time. The Session Chairs are instructed to adhere to the printed schedule for the session. With parallel sessions this is critical to the overall success of the conference.
  6. The paper must be presented by one of the authors or co-authors
  7. Oral presentations are to be made either using your laptop or the PC that will be available in the session room (Windows 10 as well as Microsoft PowerPoint 2016 (Office))
  8. Please come to the session room with your laptop or USB drive having your presentation file
  9. There eill be a volunteer on hand to assist in starting each presentation
  10. HDMI port will be used for Laptop Connection with projector display
  11. A VGA-to-HDMI converter can be used, if laptop has no HDMI port
  12. Each slide should contain the slide no / total slides (e.g. 2 / 20)

Presentation Guidelines

These guidelines have been prepared in order to bring formatting homogeneity in the presentations. All speakers are kindly requested to follow these general guidelines for the preparation of their PowerPoint presentations.

  1. The total time allotted to each speaker is 15 minutes. You should plan to speak for 12 minutes and leave 3 minutes for questions.
  2. There is NO EXCUSE for using more than your allotted time. Rehearse your presentation several times; projecting slides and doing anything else you would other expect to do at the meeting.   3. It is generally an accepted principle that too much information either in the form of text or graphics tends to make the presentation slides difficult to focus on for the audience.
  4. Font size of bullets must not be less than 28 points and the font size of slide headers must not be less than 32 points.
  5. Preferably no more than 5 bullets in each slide and not more than 6 words on each bullet.
  6. It is recommended not to include more than 15 - 20 slides for 25 minutes presentation. Please note that the time over-run will not be permitted.
  7. The Conference technical staff is responsible for projecting the presentation file for respective speakers according to the finalized program.
  8. All speakers would personally and directly conduct and monitor their presentations from the rostrum.
