Expansion into interdisciplinary programs combining computing, management, sciences, and humanities. Aiming to become a global center of excellence in education, research, and innovation, with stronger engagement with industry for applied research, startups, and career development.
1997 – Foundation of Islamabad Campus
The National University of Computer and Emerging Sciences (FAST-NUCES) inaugurated its Islamabad Campus, establishing a hub of excellence in computer science and engineering education in the capital city.
2000–2005 – Growth in Computing & Engineering
Launch of undergraduate programs in Computer Science and Electrical Engineering. Rapid increase in student enrollment and expansion of academic blocks. Establishment of research-oriented labs to support the growing demand for skilled professionals.
2006–2010 – Expansion of Programs & Facilities
Introduction of Management Sciences programs. Strengthening of postgraduate studies (MS and PhD). Development of new laboratories, library facilities, and student activity areas.
2011–2018 – Research & Innovation Era
Recognized nationally for research in AI, Software Engineering, and Networks. Students and faculty achieved significant milestones in publications, patents, and funded projects. Launch of multiple societies and student clubs for holistic development.
2019–2024 – Infrastructure & Global Collaborations
Expansion of academic and administrative blocks. Establishment of the Corporate Advisory Board for industry linkages. Launch of FAST School of Computing with AI, CS, DS, SE, and Cyber Security departments. Growing reputation as a hub for innovation, research, and entrepreneurship.
