FAST NUCES has signed DOU to establish the China-Pakistan Low-Carbon Intelligent Manufacturing International Joint Innovation Laboratory.
FAST National University of Computer and Emerging Sciences Islamabad Campus has officially signed a Document of Understanding (DOU) to establish the China-Pakistan Low-Carbon Intelligent Manufacturing International Joint Innovation Laboratory.
The agreement was formalized with the signatures of:
Dr. Aftab Maroof, Rector of FAST NUCES, representing the university. Dr. Hammad Majeed, Director of the Genesys Research Lab, who will also serve as the Pakistani Director for the new Joint Innovation Laboratory.
This pivotal collaboration is with our international and industrial partners:
- China Mobile Pakistan Limited (CMPak) / Zong 4G.
- Suzhou University of Science and Technology (USTS).
- Guangzhou Institute of Software Application Technology (GZIS).
Mission of the Laboratory
The Joint Innovation Laboratory is committed to addressing the global energy crisis and resource shortages by focusing on:
- Low-carbon environmental protection
- Intelligent building and manufacturing
- Clean and renewable energy
- Digital applications
The research will rely on technologies such as big data, artificial intelligence, cloud computing, IoT, 5G and security. Projects will include promoting the full transformation of USTS's smart building and manufacturing technologies in Pakistan, including construction robots and intelligent exoskeleton assistance systems.
This collaboration marks a major step for FAST-NUCES in advancing research, promoting the transformation of scientific and technological achievements, and cultivating talent in the low-carbon domain.
