UAV Dependability Research Lab
Introduction
UAV Dependability Research Lab at FAST-NUCES is a research-focused laboratory dedicated to advancing the reliability, safety, intelligence, and autonomy of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) and autonomous systems. The lab brings together Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, software engineering, software testing, verification and validation, and dependability engineering to address the challenges associated with the development and operation of reliable autonomous aerial systems.
The lab focuses on developing intelligent and dependable UAV technologies capable of operating safely and effectively in complex and dynamic environments. Its research includes AI/ML-based autonomous decision-making, fault detection, adaptive flight capabilities, software dependability, system monitoring, simulation, validation, and performance optimization.
Through interdisciplinary research and collaboration, the UAV Dependability Research Lab aims to bridge the gap between academic research and real-world autonomous system applications. The lab supports the development and evaluation of dependable UAV software and intelligent systems, with an emphasis on improving system resilience, safety, performance, and operational reliability.
