Summary

Dr. Islam's academic and research expertise spans parallel and distributed computing, operating systems, DevOps and Kubernetes administration, natural language processing (NLP), graph-based retrieval and recommendation systems, and AI for education. He has also contributed to applied projects in domains such as financial technology, cloud computing, and network analysis. Dr. Islam has supervised numerous undergraduate and postgraduate research projects, including final-year projects (FYPs) and industry-linked collaborations. He is actively engaged in capacity-building initiatives, such as the Erasmus+ SSAPI project, and has conducted training workshops in areas including speed programming, AI integration in teaching. In addition to his teaching and research, Dr. Islam has managed nationally funded projects (e.g., HEC NRPU), collaborated on industry?academia partnerships, and contributed to policy discussions on quality assurance and accreditation in higher education. He also plays an active role in IEEE activities, supporting initiatives that bridge academia with industry and enhance student engagement.
