Dr. Qaisar Shafi received his Ph.D & M.S. degree in Information Security from the National University of Sciences and Technology(NUST). He is currently working as Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science in National University of Computer and Emerging Sciences (NUCES-FAST), Islamabad campus. He has more than 12 years of experience in both academics and research. He has been leading the Department of Computer Science in SS CASE IT.  He has the experience of leading and establishing research labs, Moreover he has also won a funded project from a funded agency in the field of cyber security. He has been in the technical review committees of many foreign conferences.  The main area of his research is Cyber Security, AI based secure systems, Intrusion detection systems, Secure and computational algorithm development, Cloud and Fog computing based Internet of Things, Application of blockchain and Software defined networking.
