Summary

Nigar Azhar Butt is a Lecturer at the Department of Software Engineering, National University of Computer and Emerging Sciences (FAST-NU), Islamabad, and a PhD scholar at the UAV Dependability Lab. She received her MS degree in Software Engineering in 2020. Her research focuses on model-based testing, reinforcement learning, and software quality assurance, with a particular emphasis on automated testing of complex interactive systems such as video games and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). Her doctoral research explores intelligent approaches to the systematic testing of video games, including the development of a comprehensive taxonomy of gameplay faults and model-guided reinforcement learning techniques for automated playtesting. This work aims to advance the theoretical and practical foundations of automated software testing and improve the dependability of highly interactive systems. She has published research in leading international journals, including Software and Systems Modeling (SoSyM), IEEE Access, and Multimedia Tools and Applications. She is also an ISTQB-certified tester, reflecting her commitment to bridging academic research and professional software testing practice.
