Pakistan Science Fair Award 2020

Pakistan Science Fair Award 2020 was hosted by Ulster University, UK, in Serena Hotel, Islamabad on 28th of January, 2020. The students from FAST-NUCES (Islamabad Campus), NUST, Air, and Behria Universities participated by presenting their ideas on the topic of Data Science for Social Good. Dr.Kifayat Alizai and Dr.Amna Basharat were responsible/in-charge of receiving and screening the students submissions, their mentoring, overall supervision, and event coordination. They received multiple submissions from the campus, out of which 6 were shortlisted. Subsequently, after a brainstorming session, they selected top 3 FYP posters of Ali Zahid Raja, Soma Syed, and Hamza Tariq. These are all students of batch 16 and currently doing their FYPs.

Each university submitted 3 posters, in this way there were 12 submissions from all 4 universities. Each student defended the idea in the poster before the panel (Judges from Ulster, NUST, FAST, Air, and Bahria) 1 day prior to the formal event. Fortunately, our hard-working students Mr. Ali Zahir Raja (batch 2016) secured the 2nd position. The NUCES' students and faculty members were excited to have the honorable Rector of NUCES-FAST, Dr. Ayub Alvi, amongst them who also delivered an enlightening speech related to Data Science and Artificial Intelligence on the invitation of Ulster University, UK. 2nd position holder, Mr.Ali Zahid Raja,won PKR 55,000 Cash prize along with 50% tuition fee waiver (approximately, PKR 1.37 Million), subject to meeting the entry requirements for the selected program in Ulster University.

NUCES Islamabad hosts Counseling Camp

To counter the issues being faced by young university graduates in terms of their career, future plans and emotional & stress management, FAST National University hosts Counseling Camp here at Islamabad Campus other day. The day long camp was organized by Career Services Office (CSO), National University of Computer and Emerging Sciences Islamabad Campus o Oct 22, 2020 in collaboration with Foundation University, National University of Science & Technology (NUST), HR Consultants and IDP. The counseling camp featured many career councilors, psychologists and representatives of known education consultants. The camp provided opportunity to the to meet with psychologists and counselors to discuss their career interests, career challenges, stress & time management issues, and personal development, aptitude and attitude concerns.

Scholarships by European Union – January 31, 2020

Career Services Office (CSO), NUCES Islamabad campus organizes different sessions related to admissions & Scholarship opportunities abroad. In this regard, CSO organized a session for the currents students on January 31, 2020. Seventy five (75) students of all the degree programs attended the session.  Ms. Anne Marchal – Minister / Deputy High Commission of European Union to Pakistan was the speaker of the session. At the end of the session Ms. Marchal answered the different questions of the students related to the admissions/ scholarship in Europe.  Pictorial coverage is as under:

CureMD on Campus Recruitment - January 29, 2020

Career Services Office (CSO) ,NUCES Islamabad campus organized an on campus recruitment drive for BS (CS) graduating students & graduates on January 29, 2020. Seventy Five (75) candidates from graduating batch appeared for the initial technical interviews against multiple positions. Pictorial coverage of the drive is as under:

HBL Recruitment Session – January 24, 2020

Career Services Office – NUCES, Islamabad organized HBL’s on Campus drive on Friday, January 24, 2020 for BBA, BS A&F, BS (CS) and MBA graduating students. More than 130 students attended the session.

Ms.  Sarah Beg – Head of Talent Management briefed the students about HBL Internship and LEAGUE Graduate placement program.  

Dr. Aamir Matin – Head of Technology spoke about the current technologies used by HBL and the technologies they will be opting in the near future. 

Mr. Adnan Pasha – Chief of Staff to the President discussed what HBL is all about and how HBL is supporting the academia in term of internships, jobs and funding.

Nayatel on Campus Recruitment Drive

Career Services Office – NUCES, Islamabad organized Nayatel on Campus drive on Tuesday, September 29, 2020 for BS (Electrical Engineering) graduates. 39 candidates registered for this drive. Nayatel HR Panel interviewed 24 candidates for a technical position. 

Bentley Systems on Campus Recruitment Drive

Bentley System visits NUCES Islamabad campus every year for the recruitment test of BS (CS) 3^rd and 4^th year students. This year CSO organized this drive on March 10, 2020. 100+ students were appeared for the drive.

Cyber Net on Campus Recruitment Drive

Career Services Office (CSO), NUCES Islamabad campus organized an on campus recruitment drive of Cyber Net on March 10, 2020 for BS (EE) graduating students. 40+ students appeared for the interviews.

Aurora Solutions on Campus Recruitment Drive

Career Services Office (CSO), NUCES Islamabad campus facilitates Aurora Solutions every year for the hiring of fresh graduates. This year on campus recruitment drive was organized on March 05, 2020. 100+ graduating students of BS (CS) appeared for the test. 

Tintash on Campus Recruitment Drive - Mar 02, 2020

Career Services Office (CSO), NUCES, Islamabad campus organized an on campus recruitment drive of Tintash Pvt Ltd Lahore. The purpose of the drive was to facilitate the company related to the test for different job opening at Lahore and Islamabad office. 70+ graduating students/ graduates of BS (CS) appeared for the drive.

Online Webinar “Fatima Group E2L (Empower to Lead

Career Services Office NUCES Islamabad Campus organized an Online Webinar for BS (CS) and MBA students on Tuesday, Dec 22, 2020. The webinar was related to the Discover Yourself. Mr. Omair Bokhari - Head of IT Operation at Fatima Group was speaker of the session. Twenty (20) student and two team members attended the session. During the session the students were guided about their future choices and skills. This session also covered the guidelines about the Fatima Group recruitment 2021 for the positions of Graduate Trainee Engineer (GTE) and Management Trainee Officer (MTO.
